TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Military (TNI) commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto assured that he will take firm actions against anyone entering Indonesian airspace without proper permits. It was stated following the recent forced landing of Ethiopian Airlines ETH3728 in the country.
“I do not want a situation where foreign nationals could enter Indonesian airspace freely without proper permits,” said Hadi at the Ministry of Defense today, January 16.
He reminded that any foreign aircraft that violate that rule will be intercepted and that there will be no more chance for foreign nationals to look down on the severity of trespassing Indonesian airspace.
“I gave orders to create a deterrent effect. There will be no tolerances for entering Indonesian airspace without permission,” said the TNI Commander.
Previously, the Ethiopian Airlines flight ETH3728 was force-landed by the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) at the Hang Nadim Airport in Batam, Riau Islands on Monday, January 14. Two F-16s were dispatched under the Commander’s direct order.
